Fire Ball


Here is a picture of the bottom of my XP 1227 after the "event." It turns out that you have to break in these motors fro about 200 miles before you give them more than 160 volts. I am going to dial in some brush timing advance and put on some supplimentary insulation here and there to keep this from happening again.
It appears that Advanced DC won't cover this type of problem under warranty. If you send it in for repair, it might cost you $900 as it did Randy Holmquist. He had the identical problem with his XP-1227 running 193 volts.
