Woofer Mounting

This is a picture of the sub-woofer enclosures that I made (under the direction of John Wayland) out od 1/2 inch particle board. The enclosures have about a one cu.ft. volume. The brace that holds the front monut for the seat is also part of the enclosure. I sealed the edges of this brace and drilled a group of large holes in the rear side of the brace to link it too the enclosure.

Since the car is a convertable, the speakers must remain hidden, yet must deliver maximum SPL to the occupants. Under the seat is about the only option. These enclosures restrict the movement of the seats to about 1/2 of the original front-back adjustment range.
